What a Froggin' Mess

There's nothing less exciting that the rip out everything you have been working on for the past week. Not to mention I had to do it on the sad commute home friday night after a long week. This could have been so cute. I was so in love with the mixture of colors that I had to try to make it work. Alas, now I know that they will work together to make a perfectly sweet baby blanket, stay tuned for that one!

So now the hunt continues for the next perfect color for Z's summer dress... yellow, purple, blue, pink? what is the perfect summer dress color?

The Sweetest Dress I Ever Saw

I found this adorable dress for a little girl about 3 years ago and absolutely fell in love. I had no little girl to knit it for. So I waited, and waited, and waited, and dispite my gut instincts that said my sister was going to have a boy, she had Z. And now I have a little girl to knit for!!!

You can find the pattern over at Tora Forseth Design along with many other modern twists on the cute baby knits.

I love cotton for kids, especially in the summer. It's easy to clean, soft to the touch as you knit, and light weight enough to wear during the summer, and of course you can layer! I chose these Lion Brand cottons to mix and have the strie yarn through the majority of the dress. It is blue and green, which you may say "What? For a girl?!" But it's bright enough to be girly and happy for the summer time.

Can't wait to knit this up and show you how it goes!!!

Happy Sun Yarn

Ohhh what yarn can do for our spirits! I aquired this beautiful multicolored hank of yarn. That was a left over R&D project. Its perfect knitting yarn because its that looser spun fluffy wool. I'm think of actually making myself something. Its been a while since I've done that. Pehaps a hat, or a small cowl. The hat is wiinning I think. A chunky hat with a nice cable down one portion of it. Perfect. New pattern to design and write up!

Crayons are such a great tool. And this tutorial over at 52 Kitchen Adventures is a great example of a different way to use crayons.

I think it would be a great piece of art for a kids' bedroom. It'd would be super fun to play with the color layout too. A great ombre or strie of colors would create a really great spray of colors. You'd be able to do this is narrow and wider sizes and soooo many options of colors and patterns too.

Oh this excites me. I'm ready!
